Anyway, the watch appears to be the "Ocean King" model.
Available from late 1968 (see, I was correct...) until end of 1971. Yours built in 1970.

Only one that fits the dates and style from a Newspapers.com search. Seems that the name Rhythm was reused on another ladies model in the 1950s.

this watch is the Gruen Veri-Thin Rhythm, introduced October 1939, your watch had been built in 1940. There have not been many with the black dial, so your specific watch can be called kind of rare. Sales price was $33.75.
