Hi Tony,

I remember you posting about this watch at the old 'haunt'. It has a snap-back case which for the 1940's era I have only spotted a handful, if that, pass over the block at eBay. I have one, but it is an odd one at that with solid lugs that take the bund-type strap. Yours is phenomenal. I've not seen another like it. Beautiful!

Thanks for sharing this one. I'll get pictures of mine up some day soon.

Thanks Jack. This is one of those watches that I bought because I found it to be superficially attractive, and it seemed to be in unusually nice condition. Yet when I received it, and spent some time with it on my wrist, I found that I liked it even more than I imagined that I might.

Yes, the aesthetics play a significant role, but it is also remarkably solid and reliable for such an old watch. Quite a pleasant surprise, I'd say, though that is partly a reflection of my lack of previous experience with vintage Gruens.

That is a beauty! The dial is one of the cleanest I have seen so far. Looks like it has never been used.
