Anyone have an old 315/3157/345 that they can spare the clutch lever? Mine appears to be busted...

Did you ever use the magic solution I sent? What about that Elgin that started to run fast again? That is a sticky hairspring is my guess, or it has become magnetized. Ok, enough of that! I'll dig around tonight to see what I have.

Thanks to Tomas my Belmont with the 3157 is now working perfectly! I'm still struggling with that Elgin. It's one of those watches that i'll play with & set aside until i'm back in the mood to go over it again. I installed in new mainspring, checked it for magnetization (was okay) and the hairspring does seem a bit sticky so i'll play with that next. I've been sidetracked a bit with a 218D Accutron (got it working) and an old Wittnauer-Longines 13.56 movement that's giving me fits lately. Your 'magic' solution works a treat and i've used it a number of times!

I have new 8/0s hairsprings. Special price for you and new in the package!!!! Sometimes you just can't get them un-sticky, and I have been taught by the best on how to do this, but hey, ya can't win em all! Soak it over night in One dip. See what that does. If it botches the hairspring up, I'll send you one

okay. Took it apart (again). Hairspring is a bit dirty & sticking but that's not the worst of the problem as the balance staff is broken... Want a watch to work on?
