I need three hands for this Gruen Stadium (Strap 205/206). Can anyone help? I have a reasonable hour hand but the minute hand disintegrated when I tried to remove it. Embarrassed
Thanks in advance from new member.index.php?t=getfile&id=2804&private=0

Welcome aboard! When you have a moment, please pop the back off the watch and add a photo of the movement and the inside of the case back?

Still here....

index.php?t=getfile&id=2805&private=0Thanks for your reply. I picked this watch up maybe 30 years ago at a flea market, I think, mainly because it was dedicated to a guy with the same name as my dad.
I tossed it into a box and there it sat until a few weeks ago when a friend was coming over to Vietnam to visit and I asked her to bring the watch over as I have a renewed
interest in vintage watches. It winds and runs but is obviously dry and needs a service. Here are the back and movement shots as requested.
Thanks!index.php?t=getfile&id=2806&private=0index.php?t=getfile&id=2807&private=0

The 705 will be fairly easy to get hands/parts for. I've got some spares but unfortunately all of my watch parts are packed away for my pending house move...

So are my Gruen books so i can't look up an identity for this watch. Sad

Still here....

Do you have the sizes from the cannon pinon?

Thees are the hands I have but the radium has taken it's effect. I think you could easily get replacement hands from Jules Borel.

If anything find some old hands that will work, sent them to me and I can re coat them with the real deal.

GaryM: Haha, the last thing I need is more radioactivity in my system! Unfortunately, I do not have a tool to measure the cannon pinion, which I assume is the shaft that the hands fit onto? However, I do have one existing hand that I suppose could be measured. Still leaves the sub-second shaft size.
I looked at the Jules Borel site and found it impossible to navigate but I will give it another look. Clicking on "hands" shows no hands, as it were. Thanks for your suggestions, I'll
keep looking.

I can measure my cal 705 and let you all know... The main question is how long... That doesn't need a precision caliper but a measure to the millimeter aught to work.

You can also try Cas-Ker Watch. They stock a ton of things, and you can send in the movement, they can ID the movement, and probably get you some hands. Also, If I knew the length of hands as Master Jack has pointed out, then I could have helped. The number at Cas-Ker is 800-487-0408. Great Company!!! Goodluck!

I'm betting it fell off a truck on the way to a high-level radiation disposal facility.

There was this parts table at the regional that was in the middle of everything. They had a ton of everything imaginable in parts... I stopped by several times while selling tickets, to scavenge through it was like seven 11 "Too Much Good Stuff". I saw the radium hands and some packages that had the fontainmelon hands, good ole factory "T". Near the end of closing I went back and said I'll take the assortment of raduim hands, how much? Take them he said and lume them with this stuff. ;-)
