index.php?t=getfile&id=3059&private=0Hello Gruenites,

Looking for a baton style Gruen radium hand for my import. I stuck a generic one on this, but this does not look to good. See picture attached

Let me dawn my radiation suit and check in my woodshed. I have several dozen packs of radium hands but I think most are for the early 20's. Doesn't hurt to check, see how many dead mice are lying about.

Rats! My packages have no modern baton hands, mostly spades, clubs and diamonds. Where are the hearts?

I forgot I had a variety pack of various used hands. There are batons hands among the others but they look pretty small. I'll dig around.

I got one for Tomas. Just waiting to hear back if the one I have is the right length.

But Gary, I think you might be able to help me out with that collection. I need some hands for a Tavannes trench watch. Got the cathedral style in there?

Should have said something about those hands there Jack. I have a Tyvannes trench encased in solid silver. I "might" have some if Gary does not. I'll have to check!

I'll need to measure the pipe on the minute wheel and the canon pinion

Jack,

I'm not at home to measure what I have, but if the length is right, then of course, you can always broach the inside to specs. Of course, you already know that. Also, send me measurements as well, and either myself or GaryM will be happy to help. GaryM, I forgot to tell you that Jack had sent one along. I don't know if it's home yet, as I work 100 miles form at home at Abderdeen Proving Grounds, but will let you know as soon as possible.

Tomas's hand will go into the mail tomorrow. Wasn't able to escape work for anything other than walking the dog this week.

For the Tavannes... I measure 1.20mm on the hour wheel pipe and 0.90mm on the canon pinion for the minute hand. give or take 0.05mm

I've had bigger fish to fry this past month; haven't put much thought to beyond finding the other missing parts for the watch. May need to replace the whole movement.

not much presently... relatives in the house since Dec 22nd and then left for a weeks work in southern New Mexico.

Only Gruen is Fred's Nomad. The hands I asked you about are for a 15-jewel Tavannes marked sterling trench watch.
