If you are talking about the movement: No. The cal 470 is pretty common. For rare you'd have to go back to the 1910s or for a cased watch, notch it up to 14K or platnium. Wadsworth would do some one-offs for Gruen; they had a pretty good working relationship. Every so often, an an exec from Gruen (or just an employee) would request a case of fine metal rather than just goldfilled. Charley Cleves has documented this pretty well.

All I know is based on hard work & writing by others. I can only aspire to augment this body of knowledge. If I am wrong it is because of my own failings. -me

From what I can see I believe this is the "Autowind Triumph".

This watch was built from 1948 to 1950, the style number would date your watch to a 1948 release date, the Wadsworth serial number indicates a 1950 production. Lugs, dial and overall shape should support my guess. Originally priced at $71.50 it is a mid range watch and should have had a good run rate. It was advertised in daily newspapers and even the Life magazine, so it for sure is not a rare model. Of cause all this is only valid if my model assumption is correct...

Did I miss the picture of the watch put together? Can you post one of just the watch?

What's rare is to ask for a picture of the watch instead of asking for tall the great stuff you have provided Smile

I also missed the normal front view picture so I made my assumptions based on the dial and the back view. At least one can imagine the round shape and the form of the lugs Razz

Pic has been posted and your assumption is correct.I thought that it being a "BUMPER" auto made it somewhat rare but I was wrong....again...
