Hi Ruth,

nice watch in a very modern design of the early 50th. At that time these fancy shaped crystals emerged.
The diamonds are very nicely set and it looks like the watch came with them. But you are perfectly right the original model was without the diamonds.
I have a few ads showing this watch which was named "Carmen". The ads all date from 1954 and 1955 but I assume that the watch has been introduced a year earlier which was 1953. It has a Swiss made 17 jewel precision movement which was called the 275.
This watch was sold for $71,50 with a matching bracelet which seems to have been replaced meanwhile. The original bracelet has been narrower. Also the crown looks like it has been replaced recently that might probably have been part of the overhaul.
