Can anyone provide information on what balance staff a Gruen 50th Anniversary watch takes?

Most probably the 50th Anniversary takes the same friction staff as the late V1 caliber. However, no one has managed to source these staffs. While there are staffs labeled for V1 caliber out there, they appear to be for an earlier version of the movement.

I have never heard of any parts sold by Gruen specifically for the 50th Anniversary caliber. Maybe they intended them to be sent in to Cincinnati for repair? It completely possible that the staff is unique to the caliber, but I hope not!

A picture of the 50th Anniversary staff would be worth a thousand words, since we have pictures of several flavours of staff for the V1 in various places on this forum. Much better than buying blindly and hoping for the best.

This Saturday I will be meeting with some folks at Starbucks that have the 50th Anniversary holy grails. See by chance they have or know the staff type.

Hey everyone I finally sent my 50th Anniversary watch to a watchmaker who had to make a brand new balance staff. He told me to keep the old balance staff in case something happens. When I get a chance I will provide pictures of the broken staff.

Ask your watch maker if he would provide a copy of his sketch that I'm sure he'll have when he makes the replacement.
