Guess it was just a matter of time before we found a Schild in the early Gruen movements. This is the AS 137 / 153 caliber, which I think was standard issue for NCOs in WW1. Could Gruen have gotten in on that?
It’s missing setting works (will be trying to source). There are three Gruen 15J, 13L candidates. Looking at works of many other AS137, I think it could be Gruen’s 775. Thoughts? (Edit: actually the 771, see below)
My two caveats:
1) I'm wrong many times a day --just ask my wife!
2) Always seeking to learn more

This is an interesting one. I totally agree that the movement was made by A. Schild. Here is the registration from 1915, called #153:
Different sources like the "Classification of the Swiss Watch Movements" by Jobin call this the cal 137, and in the web you can find a wild mixture of 137 and 153 pictures. There seem to be two different click springs existing, the original one shown in the registration being the one used here in these movements. Jobin is showing the same picture as Caliber 137, so I do not know which is really which or if they in the end are the same during the years. Nevertheless the Record movement shown here can be dated to 1915/16. 1915 this caliber has been introduced and in 1916 the Record Watch Co became the Record Dreadnought Watch Co. not using the Record W. Co. Logo anymore.
The Gruen caliber is the 771, not the 775 as the 1926 Supplement B catalog shows. But other than that I fully agree.

Wow, thanks for the positive ID! Now at least I know what I’m looking for (lotsa variants on setting bits). Updated OP
Helpful info on Record, too. I thought the stud & carrier looked earlier. So I suppose the Gruen is 1916-1921 but likely a few years later than the Record.
