The National Convention is happening July 13–16, in Lancaster, PA, not at the York Center, but at the convention center next to the Marriott hotel. It looks like a good event this time around, so I already made my reservations. Here is the convention website. https://natcon.nawcc.org/

If you're going I'm up to setting up a meet-up for maybe a dinner outing or a visit at the NAWCC museum for a mini Gruenfest (G-Fest). Rolling Eyes

Okay, with some thought, we shouldn't need to start a Kickstarter campaign, but here's what I suggest if you all get serious about it...

I have room at the Marriott Hotel and can accommodate a guest, Barney. That would save you $600, and you could stay with me at no cost; I promise I don't snore. Twisted Evil

Jenneke, I can check with our director to see if she has room or if someone on her staff can accommodate. Since I'm helping the director set up the mart, I can surely ask her.

Now if we decide to do a Kickstarter then...

-Pledge without reward. $10 Unlimited Qty
-Pledge with Gruenfest. 1 dinner ticket at the Lancaster Convention. $50 Qty 25??
-Pledge with a vintage Gruen watch (generic). $75 Qty 20??
-Pledge with a Quardron Gruen watch. $150 Qty 4??
-Pledge with a Pan Am Gruen watch. $300 Qty ??

Later we can come up with a Kickstarter goal statement if we serious about this.

Allthough this convention is probably a Gruen walhalla… and it would be nice to come over, I think the bargains wont justify the travel. Cool

No direct flight, 2O hr stop over starting at 1200 dollar. Beter to save it for a regular holiday to The USA (one day). Very Happy

I thought I would run into a couple of Gruen folks there, given that this was the 80th anniversary of the organization. This was a great event, with well over 600 tables sold. I was volunteering on the Mart security team; this kept me busy and kept me from browsing and buying. The banquet dinner had one of the biggest turnouts that I've ever seen; I'd say over a thousand people were there. The restoration of the Big Ben clock was the speaker presentation.

Free admission to the NAWCC Museum in Colombia was on Thursday. I was getting material loaded up for the mart so I quickly browsed through to see what was new.

Comtoise clocks are my specialty

The mart was hopping, one of the biggest I've seen since 2015.

Here is a nice big tower clock that I was helping the owner load onto his truck, luckily he had this bolted to a roller and had a lift gate on the truck to hoist it in.

Picked up a Austrian Baroque bracket clock and a miniature Comtoise at auction on Friday. These need work but they came as donations to the museum. You won't find these type of clocks at the mart, the auction is special in that way.

Sad that I didn't go. I did have a good time in Germany. Pleased to hear your time there was enjoyable.
