Description

A robin egg blue box of hand finished mainsprings.

Period: Early 1900's
Watch type: Pocket Watch
Size: Various
Inventor: D. Gruen & Sohne
Patents: Hmmm...

Don't you just love the font on this box! This dates well before the Time Hill era. And check out the detailed notice on the back, holy Toledo!!!

I would pull the springs out but have to do it under a blanket, noting better than metal spaghetti flying about. Enjoy!

A box full of ready to go explosions. πŸ˜‚

Indeed a nice Gruen font. And a long story on the back, which would have made me suspicious if I had lived in the 1900,s. Too much to be true. But guaranteed for a year… sounds like a short life for a spring. πŸ˜… does fit the coa advices they gave.

Yeah, guaranteed for a year doesn't very sound good. Dietrich's safety pinion saved a lot repairs from these broken springs.

Boy you have to wonder how they fit all those springs in there?

Guessing back in the day these springs fit all the Gruen watches regardless of model.

How many different models of movements did D. Gruen and Son offer back in that period? It wasn't that many.
