Hello fellow Gruenites!
I would like to remind everyone that there are a number of Gruen-related books that are out there with active copyrights on them.
Please to not embed or link to images of copyrighted material through the vintagegruen.org site.
If you wanted to post an image from... say Cooksie and Shugart... you should have the author's or publisher's permission. If you want to post an image from a 1939 Gruen advert, you generally should be posting a copy of your own photo. Technically someone else's photos could fall under the realm of copyright even if the subject of the photo/scan is in the public domain. If you are unsure about posting an image as part of a discussion, ask the author. If you are unsure of the author, or if an image or portion of a book is presently under copyright ask a moderator/admin. We will tend to error on the side of caution. Often, permission is easy as an author likely will see it as free advertising.
For a primer on copyright there is this - http://www.copyright.com/Services/copyrightoncampus/basics/l aw.html
Thanks for understanding.
