This is the information I supplied in my ebay listing:

It's been 3 years in the making and it's finally here, The Gruen Watch Model Identification Guide VOLUME 2, the anticipated second guide book to the Gruen Watch Model Identification Guide Volume 1. It joins the other Gruen guides authored by this book's author that now total 5 in active print.

This volume 2 guide has the same format as Volume 1. Each watch is presented in approximately life size and is accompanied by data on the watch such as case material (gold, gold filled), stones such as diamonds, the movement details, the original price and how much that price translates to today's inflation adjusted dollars. Volume 2 is considerably larger than Volume 1, 60% larger. Combined these 2 books total more than 1,000 watch images. It is a hefty book to hold in your hands and you'll immediately notice the size difference between the two guides, and the quality bar that was already set high was moved up further.

Watches of all families of Gruens are represented - Curvex, Veri-Thin, Quadron, Cartouche, Baguette, Auto-Wind, etc. The extensive Index is grouped by these families of watches. All of the Curvexes are together for example. Two major differences will be immediately noticeable in the Index. Volume 1 and Volume 2 watches are combined into a single index with Volume 2 watches in red and volume 1 watches in black. The other difference is that is data provided in tabular form in this index. Not only the page number is shown but so are the number of jewels in the movement with an indicator if the movement is a Precision movement, the number of jewels, case materials, stones, even the price is included. The Index itself is a great research resource.

Volume 2 was roughly structured to fill in the areas that Volume 1 had few watches. These are the early years prior to 1933. Volume 1 has 12 pages devoted to this early timespan, whereas Volume 2 adds another 43 pages. The 1950's were the other area that Volume 1 did not have as a high priority. Volume 2 has watches up to and including 1958.

Don't be alarmed that Volume 2 skipped everything in between the early years and the end-of-the-line years. It didn't. Every year from 1935 to 1955 has watches.

The Gruen Watch Model Identification Guide Volume 2 book contains 170 pages.

The recent review by the NAWCC gave the book high marks. You'll find a copy on the NAWCC's free Message Board and in the next NAWCC Bulletin magazine.
