Hi all , i am currently trying to restore a beautiful Gruen, hopefully this is the first of many as i really like the look and style of the early models.

I have a gruen that has the caliber 885 movement (15 Jewels) and i am on the look for the following

Barrel Arbour
Ratchet Screw
4th Wheel with the sub seconds pinion.

Researching into this model (best fit / jules borel) it seems that the movement is indeed interchangable with the FHF 324 movement.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance

Jonathan

Welcome to the forum Jonathan! I can't help you for parts but older jules references points to the 324 as well.

GRU 885
W OR W/OUT SS
10 1/2L 65/140/22
=FF 324=1146

There is one spare out on eBay but they want a whopping $100. Shocked

I can tell you one thing for certain and that is the staff between the FHF variant and the cal 885 are not the same. Be happy that isn't on your list of needed parts.

I would advice you to keep on looking on Ebay. Once a week a 885 movement will pop up. Probably not described as caliber 885 because it is part of a complete watch (mostly wristlets). Prices are $25 or less.

Just to give you an idea what to look for, 2 examples of Gruen wristlets:
