A 406c... really? Pictures 'cause I don't think there is such a thing.

I may have a 406; certainly a 405 and almost all parts will interchange between the two (escape wheel and associated jewels don't). What are you up to?

All I know is based on hard work & writing by others. I can only aspire to augment this body of knowledge. If I am wrong it is because of my own failings. -me

This must be an oddball then. I had a really bad rustic movement, that belong to a customer, but I snapped the staff

btw... I've got a 406, but if you want it clean and running (has a bad staff) I'd say $90... but then I'm doing your job for you. Or... you can buy one from the swamp and send to me for staffing if you are still having issues doing that work. You would need to clean it first and then the staffing is $30.

As long as this stupid thumb does not respond, then I will always have issues staffing. I found one for 19.00 on the swamp, and I hope its running. The seller did not know, and judging on the condition in the photo, I'd say there is a good chance that its running....I hope

Basically I got so focused on the rusted stem and clutch assembly, that I did what to most is a cardinal sin! I forgot to remove the balance assembly...........completely, but I got that stem out and removed all the rust. Still, I snapped the staff, and then got sick about it! I haven't busted a stem in a very, very long time. (at least one that I will admit to) Lol!!!!

We all make mistakes from time to time. I botched a staffing not just once but twice. 3rd time was the charm....
