I picked up a nice dial with a movement recently, that likely originated from a low-serial Swiss case. The movement is a 421ss with serial #789134. Among the lowest 420/421ss serial I've seen to date. No case though....

So I have these two parts. It is the same story that the threads on the case back do not mesh with the bezel.

index.php?t=getfile&id=3607&private=0

Case back has the serial 52623 and has "Guildite Back" on the inside but is not recessed for the sweeps seconds. This is likely for a chrome-plated case because of the word "back" that housed a subseconds 420/421.

The bezel I have is a stainless steel bezel for the 420 or 420ss cal. A case back from another Gruen 420ss cal watch with serial 1068426 fits the threads. Considering the serial number on the movement, the case likely had the 'million' serial case or a swiss case with a 49xxx serial.

I'm looking to trade my case back (non-recessed) for a case back (with the SS recess) in those above serials.

I'll re-reimburse you for the postage too.

...or if you have one that will fit for sale.

Cheers!
