Thank you for the offers. But don't worry about it....

Now I'm going tell you about a noob-level mistake in diagnosing an issue. Think it boils down to not working on enough pocket watches.

See the bend in the stem in that photo above? I thought that was the issue... but it isn't. That is a feature, not a flaw. The stem is two parts and that pivots. It was rusty and wasn't pivoting. I did not realize this until I pulled out the stem to replace it with the one from Jason. Cleaning the existing stem and improving the depth of the stem sleeve solved the winding issue as to why is was skipping. The second thing on this was that I needed to tighten the canon pinon too. That I did today. Soooooo..... I figure my story will help others.
