Interesting info Paul. 1902 is the earliest ad I have seen so far of their Swiss Extra Precision movements that Gruen started to market. The assumption is they started as early as 1900 with these movements, based on an article published in "The Jewelers' Circular - Weekly and Horological Review, February 28, 1900, pp. 33-4". Still don't know who actually produced these movements? Some assumed it was Aeby&Landry, but I researched that this can't have been the case.

By the way, I see they were also available in 00 size. I know 0 size is 13''' and 1 size is 13 1/2''', so is 00 size 13 1/4'''?

They started earlier with precision movements. See picture below. It says "Präcisions Uhren" and is dated 20 August 1898.

You are right, I wasn't really clear by what I meant. I was referring to the movements that Gruen started selling after they stopped the Assmann joint venture and switched to Swiss produced movements.

Thanks that explains the size.

I was not referring to the VeriThin Extra Precision, but Calibers 50 and 56 Extra Precision (and also cal. 35 & 21 normal Precision)

Reviving this thread, because I can now pinpoint that this catalog was published between January & April 1901. Note that the Grossman escapement insert had been included in Gruen catalogs since the very first one published in 1895 (always printed in full color), and it was used at least until the one circa 1906-1907 that I posted in the Reference section.
