I am need of a watch case for a Gruen 17 jewel model 425 movement. It does not have to be in mint condition and I have plenty of crystals. Any helpers out there?

Looks like you have plenty of options. I would search the bay using the mvmt/case# combo and hope a non-working example with a good case comes up. Good luck.
Taken from my late '50's Watch-craft crystal catalog. You may also want to try the 425-465 format as well as 425/465.
