Dear Thojil, wow! thanks so much for doing the ID on the watch. The manufacture date range you suggested makes sense, as I was a young child in the 1960's and I think I remember my Mom wearing this watch back then. The later date on this watch (not one of the classic Gruen watches from the earlier part of the century)suggests that I can take it to any good jewelry store with watch repair service and get it cleaned, rather than treating it as a special collectible. I will, however, ensure that my daughter understands the quality and history on this watch, and takes good care of it.
