First thing:
I love these old long cases. Great watch!
Second:
It is not a Curvex. This might be disappointing but although the watch has a curved back, it has a ladies Cartouche movement not a Curvex movement. This is why it is does not belong to the Curvex family...
To make you happy agaign:
I believe that this watch is the "Hawk", a very nice model, where people tend to pay even more than for most of the Curvexes. It was named after Commander Frank Hawks, holder of over 200 air records, for whom the Hawk Series was named. There was at last the "Hawk" itself, the "Air Hawk" and a "Golden Hawk". Have not yet looked for the differences but I think that Hawk and Air Hawk differed by strap and dial whereas the Golden Hawk was the solid gold version. What I have seen is that the Hawk was coming with a leather strap, the "Air Hawk" had a metal band and was priced with a $7.75 premium over the Hawk which did cost $29.75.
This series was introduced for the Christmas offering approximately October 1936 and was available until Christmas 1938
