Hey--nice watch! And great pics, too!

There'll be a serial number under the dial, but maybe of lesser interest to most except for crazy folks like me. If it's ever serviced, it would be also interesting to see markings on the dial back. No "Switzerland" stamped on the dial (which looks all original), consistent with this being imported as a complete watch.

Is it just me, or is there a second case number? There's the "58" stamped everywhere... but also an 11: in roman numerals on the inner bezel, in roman numerals on caseback bottom right, and in arabic numerals on caseback top right. Perhaps even on the dial back, but I can't tell

That strap is great too! Not original but sits nice and light weighted on the wrist.

I agree, nothing that suggest it had Switzerland on the dial. If I ever dare to remove the dial or when it gets a service... you will get your pictures.

I noticed the XI or IX in the case when I posted the pictures. And now I see the 11 too. Nothing on the visible parts of the dial (its dirt). Maybe roman from the case maker and stamped number when the dial was fitted. My silver cartouche might have a second number too (9). Peculiar.

The strap is a nice one!

Perhaps 11 is the piece number in the run? Let's say Gruen ordered XX pieces from the supplier, 20 for example, and this could be the 11th. But I guess the bezel number could be a 9 (IX), which lines up with the dial position. XI on the back does not line up, but the other 11 does. Peculiar indeed!

The 58 being also stamped on the dial is very curious. Not sure if I've seen that before.
