Model name : Gruen Electronic
Type :
Period/date : 1969-1970
Gender : Mens
Case Maker : Hong Kong
Case Material : SS
Case Serial : 150CA-357A
Case Style no :
Caliber : 9154 - 13 jewels
Movement Maker : ESA
Movement Serial: Y2 ?
Bracelet : Gruen black leather/suede (period?), 17mm lugs.
Other info : Interesting that the battery retainer clip is likely from another watch movement. It shows 11 jewels while the movement itself is marked 13 jewels. Watch is in beautiful condition and runs very well at 28,800 BPH/ This ESA movement (called the Dynotron) was launched in 1967. While it wasn't the first watch movement to employ transistors (that honour goes to the Accutron), it was the first movement to employ both a transistor and a balance assembly.

hi there and thank you! From what i have read these movements are fairly robust and have few problems. Mine seems to be running very well but given the lack of experienced repair persons, I think i'll take very good care of it...

Which is where i should have put this watch. Perhaps one of the Admin staff can move it to the 1950's & Up Section.
