Good evening Gruenites,

As many of you know, I am in the military, in The Army to be exact, and love watches specifically, of the military variant. I was recently approached by another member for a joint venture. We are completely restoring a CAL 325, with original hands, dial, case. However, the dial was redone prior to me getting it. Kurt Ryerson did a splendid job on the hairspring, I serviced and repaired other items to include a free service, crystal, crown, and now a stem. 100% of the proceeds (when the watch is sold) is going to Folds Of Freedom to help a wounded vet's family or the vet him/herself. A picture will be provided to the forum, and I'm sure where the watch is being sold just to stay above board and accountable. Now, I am more than happy to pay for the next part, but I am in desperate need of a stem for this CAL 325. Please PM me if you have such a part, and the price you want. Your attention is greatly and sincerely, appreciated.

Kindest Regards,
Timeticker
Tomas

Tomas, that stem is an oddball and not part of the standard replacement sets out there. I have some other various sets and came up empty.

Chaching! Jules has stems in stock.

Cheers!

Tomas - I've been off the forum for a while and trying to catch up. Do you still need a 325 stem? I have a couple of them that I'd be happy to send one free of charge.

Courtesy of a Stem Assortment box originally purchased by Esslinger & Co. Jewelers Supply, St Paul, Minn and which made its way to me via eBay, a 325/3251 stem from bottle 17 is on its way.

There are so many people to thank with this project. It was a wish of mine to give back. So many times we read or hear about "Takers", I wanted to start a movement with the help of the watch community. Well, we did it. Tomas Garcia was instrumental in this endeavor, he was the person responsible for repairing this watch. Kurt Ryerson worked his magic on the hairspring and the stem came from this forum.
Thank ALL of you for contributions, without it, this would not of happened. Maybe, juts maybe we can do another project some day and select another worthy charity to help, if so count me in.

AKA ncinfiniti in several other forums

Respectfully,

This watch was a joy to work on, and to know that Brian is an honest and forthright individual. He promised 100% proceeds, and kept his word. I will gladly contribute to another project any time he wants to do another job for a worthy cause.

That's a gorgeous watch and I am thrilled that my donated stem could play a teeny part in this wonderful endeavor. Thank you to Kurt, Tomas, and Brian, the people that really made this happen!

Jason,

Those 325 stems were worth their weight in gold! Thanks a million tons for the help. The watch really was a beauty. What is interesting is that the guy who bought the watch, is going to attempt to find the original owners and I "think" give it back to the family. Not too sure on that, so don't quote me, but what a fitting end to a priceless treasure.
