If I can ever find a leather cord band with a sufficiently masculine buckle and length, I would wear this one. There is no serial number on the movement, unless it's under the dial.

Aha, so it’s the 15J variant. The 701(?). But stamped for the base 700 caliber (7J). Thanks for sharing it!

Any plans to get a peak under the dial? I’m assuming this would be Lavina, but I’ve no proof beyond the 704 & 705 being Lavina/Factory 4 and sharing parts. The differences between the 700-701 & 703-704 all are unknown to me.

My two caveats:
1) I'm wrong many times a day --just ask my wife!
2) Always seeking to learn more

Oh cool! that is in good condition. I need to get one of the corded models too eventually so I'll hold out for maybe....Strap 298. The metal link bands of the era never ever fit. Thanks for sharing.

Hi afire this ad from 1935 confirms Lavina as producer of this movement.

Hey was curious, afire were you ever able to locate a source of cords for these types of Gruens?

I recently picked up a Strap 265, leather or nylon would work but can't find right diameter and length and buckle for the watch.

No, I never really did. I've got both this and the steel version, but have never found a suitable attachment. I know the steel one came with a metal bracelet, and now suspect this one may have as well. But I've never given up looking.

Nah? ok. Pretty sure you could choose between metal bracelet and cord, of which "leather" "suede" & "nylon" were available ,among others. Anyhow, the 265 is pictured with a cord in catalog. Thanks for the reply. I'll find one.
