It’s the last night of good Perseid meteor sightings tonight, so I thought I’d shout out to the other star gazers. I remember my mom waking us up for the early morning peak. Mostly cloudy in Cincy, but I hope others have better luck...

As Jack Horkheimer used to say, keep looking up!

My two caveats:
1) I'm wrong many times a day --just ask my wife!
2) Always seeking to learn more

I only saw one last night but it was a good bright one...
came out from the north and sailed past Jupiter.

Haven't seen any yet tonight...

Yes, also one for me when I walked the dog at 10:30PM...
It has been a 1234 night:
1 Perseid meteor
2 satellites
3 airplanes
4 other dogs

Only the dogs were grounded Smile
Other things I usually count and which were zero the night are bats, cats and hedgehogs.

I saw a couple streaks out of the eastern sky. The parade of planets are always good to see in summer. Jupiter in the south, right behind it is Saturn, further behind them in the east is Mars.

Glad others saw them. Plenty of bats here this week, but too many clouds. I think we’ll schedule our vacation week on the island next year during the Perseids—ought to be truly stellar viewing there.
