Lovely hand inscribed bridge and case back, very unusual 4 adjustments before precision became a household term.

The detail is so crisp! Looks new.

I think you’ve got an early bird, too. I’d guess it was a very early style 53 from 1924, but maybe 25. Before the 5mm jump, and a pre-serial #s 153 in the old fonts.


My two caveats:
1) I'm wrong many times a day --just ask my wife!
2) Always seeking to learn more

Hey Gary, yeah I concur Cartouches are special. Is 4 adj really that unusual? Curious bc I'm looking at a later Cartouche 107 tonight with a 153 in it, marked 4 adj too, but I don't know alot about the 153, thanks.

It's not so much that 4 adjustments is unusual, as that it's hand-engraved. You have one of the very first of the 153 4 adj. movements.

4 adjustments became the Gruen standard for Precision wristwatches.
