This post is to simply highlight what I think is a really cool Gruen watch. The nurses Cartouche 224. Beginning xmas 1926 these were advertised yearly until 1932.
Besides an always beautiful cartouche case the real star is Fred's dial (imo). But the strap that slides is also intriguing.
One neat detail is how the side carving design extends to lugs. This model also came in wire lugs.

I like the dial design too!

Mine is a later model. Similar dial ( could be redial).

Still on my to do list is make a nice watch strap. Not sure how the original looks when the clasp is closed. Maybe use a 3 folding clasp (f.e. Ebay item 200894369238)

I would love to get my hands on one of those deployment buckles. I'd spring for a custom band to go with it.
