While on a research tangent long ago, I stumbled onto Jean-Jacques Richard's blog. I have found many helps along the way--and a few pieces of inspiration!

Ever wonder how fine engraving and mounting of stones could be done under primitive lighting? Here is the answer. I would love to come across one of these at a flea market! Not likely in the USA. But it would be an attractive conversation piece, plus just useful sometimes.

You might be able to make one, I bet the craft stores have something similar you could cog together. Ask a local glass blower they could make you one for sure!

The local glass blower is a good idea! When I lived in Louisville, I had a shop down the block that I know could make one. Have to poke around Cincy a bit--or maybe stop in the Louisville shop next visit.
