Gruen Apprentice

I am looking for a top balance wheel jewel with hole for a Gruen semiThin 756 17 jewel pocket watch. When I was servicing the watch, I lost the jewel with the hole that holds the top of the balance wheel shaft. I have the cap jewel and only need the hole jewel. I will take a complete bridge with the balance wheel and jewels if anyone has them. Please let me know what you have and the price. Thanks Andre

Hi Andre,

NOS parts for the 756 are a rare find. The best bet is to get a 756-758 part movement from eBay. I checked my 758 parts box and it doesn't event list a hole jewel, really?

I have never seen a Gruen ruby set, would be lovely. Going from memory. Isnt that a jewel in a setting? Suppose there are generic vintage options for the setting. I dont have those.

If I were you, I would search for a spare movement. They turn up regularly on Ebay. Or ponder if a Seitz could be pressed in.
