I just posted a bunch of watches in the 1920's and 1930's section and noticed that new posts in that area don't show up on the front page. I'm always interested in seeing the examples people post and hadn't realized that there were a lot of new posts I hadn't seen. Anyway, if it's an easy fix, it might be worth having them show up on the index page.

I'm in Japan right now but will look into it when I get some time. Cary made the suggestion moving them under the Model database forum to keep everything in 1 area.

Yeah, I definitely think a separate section is ideal, and the breakdown by decade makes sense. I just didn't realize that members were adding ID's that I hadn't seen.

Its seemed fine the way it was!! Now its a mess! A database is exactly that, Once a watch as been entered into the database Its totally correct, there is no need for further posts.
If there a question about a watch its entered in the Identification and Discussion Forum, did not seem that complicated!

I made the suggestion, but what I was concerned with was that the model ID posts ahould be under the identification heading. I now realize that the posts are not showing as well as they did the old way.

Perhaps we should just have a model gallery in the regular discussion section, and then move or replicate the ones that meet the parameters for the decade ID section at a later date.

I put the Model Identification and Discussion forum back into the Gruen discussion area and kept the decade forums in the Model Database area. Now we should see all new posts. Let me know if this works for you all.

So now we are back to where we started!
The next question is Why are watches, that have had the year of manufacture identified, still seating in the Identification section and not been moved into the Database? Is this not what its for?

I am sorry. Thought you said it would be the job of the moderator to stop things becoming messy!

I moved the ones that had templates put in by the member. I'm sure others could go but they have no template and we might be going against the member's wishes.
