One of my goals is to learn basic watch repair (as an aside, I've read pretty good things about http://www.timezonewatchschool.com/WatchSchool/, does anyone have any experience with them?). To that end I've purchased parts drawers here and there, figuring that having a cache might come in handy once I know what I'm doing. I recently acquired something very cool on ebay (maybe I was bidding against some of you?) and I wanted to let this great community share in my wealth.

Take a look at the attached picture of this cool case filled with parts, and a typical drawer. If you need parts from any of these models get in touch and I'll see if I can help.

I have one similar, but with a bigger base area.

Jason, does yours still have any crystals left in the OS Crystals box?

Yes, there are some Odd Shaped crystals left that appear to match and seem to be in good condition (there are lots of image artifacts in this picture). The 157/8 slot has some other things as does the 117/64. Let me know if you would like anything.

Nice!

The picture shows a printed 99 - OS2. In the 1926 and 1929 the same picture shows 99/2.

The handwritten text is interesting. In the upper right corner it says OS27 - 179. Never seen OS27 but when you look in the crystal chart in the 1929 guild book there is a caliber 179 mentioned with a case style 27.
In the lower left corner there is O-S-1 = 707. In the guild 1929 book there is a caliber 707 mentioned with the case style 1. In the 1926 standardized parts and guild 1929 guide there is one OS1 combination mentioned, with the caliber 101. Is there anything to "see below"?

Can someone re-size these photos so that they are easier to view?

Still here....

If you click on the link you'll get a bigger picture size. Now the capacity size of the photos are taking a little long to load in the thread. I can re-size them that way if that helps.

This looks like the one that recently sold in the swamp. Good buy!

What's in the 155 box?

Jenneke - The only thing to see below are the crystals. The picture shows them exactly as I found it.

Jack - This was the one that sold recently. It is a little crazy buying it given how little I know about watch repair, but oh well. What's in the 155 box? 155 parts of course! Smile See below and let me know if you need anything. It seems to have everything except the winding pinions.

GaryM - thanks for making the pictures smaller, the ones I've attached to this message should be more manageable.

Jack - If you need a winding pinion I've got a 155 box too. And my number 7 isn't empty.

Well, what I really need is a movement holder that can go small enough for the 155. Cary was kind enough to send me two complete 155s for me to operate on to get the watch going. Liz sent a spare bracelet and was able to size it to my mom's wrist since she is here for turkey. As of now I don't need parts, but mostly curious on the contents and completeness of what kastner bought.

Cheers!

Kastner,

Are there any staffs for the 833?

I also purchased one of these parts cabinets a while back and, although there were quite a few parts still inside for most of the calibers, there were no balance staffs...none, nada, zippo...for any caliber! Not all that surprising really...but I was hopeful. Sad

Jack,

Glad to hear you were able to get your grandmother's watch put right. Smile

Jason,

It would be the Quadron (157 and 117) crystals that I would be most interested in. As you know, I have plenty of things to trade. It appears that there is a cut corner rectangle in the 117 64 slot, and if so, I think I have the watch that needs it.

We can follow up by direct contact if you'd like.

Liz, let me know if you need parts for 833s.

Cary

Liz - I have three balance staffs. See the picture below for the other parts (and there are two mainsprings in 22) and send me a PM with your address and needs.

Cary - I'll email you pictures of the crystals in the 157 and 117 slots and let's talk about what you want. There are some mislabelings in play and I don't actually have any 117s.

I'm not there with the repair yet Liz. Though the band is, thank you!

Jack,

You are most welcome. I'm glad you were able to use it.

Jason,

Thanks! I'll get back to you tomorrow with my info.

Cary,

I have some crystals coming in tomorrow.

I'll check for your crystal size.
