After many years I finally was able to add the 1918 Moisture Proof Military Model to my collection. It is in the mail, but from the pictures it looks to be in pretty good condition.

The only thing that is broken is the connecting link between the inner watch case and outer protection case. I will have a look at that when it arrives. It is fitted with a caliber 807 and the most incredible thing is that the original printed piece of protective cloth is still there.

The watch makers that worked on it have taken the warning seriously Laughing

Pictures are taken from the seller. I due time I will post better ones.

Very nice. I had a partial in 14K at one time, but have never had the chance to buy a complete one. Look forward to the pics when you get it.

I say this one on the 'bay. I thought about it; believe it was listed as a BIN. Glad it went to a good home. I too look forward to the restoration you'll do on this one.

That should be no problem at all for a competent goldsmith to fix. It's really nothing more than a simple bent rod forming a hook. I had one of these years ago, but the pictures I still have aren't very good and only one give some hint of what the hook looks like, but a picture of the inner case outside the outer case would have been more helpful.

But the case serial number on mine was 568475.

By the way, gutsy move making an offer. I'd have been on needles and pins waiting for a reply and hoping nobody else (like me had I seen it) would jump on the BIN. I think this would have been well bought at the original asking price. But your daring paid off. Congratulations!

No guts, no glory 😅
I agree that the BIN price was already excellent compared to the 1200$ for one offered on chrono24.com

Just to be sure you're saying you don't have a picture showing the hook? Anyway the way you described it it will be pretty simple to recreate then.
Thanks for the info
